New Year.. new beginnings, resolutions and expectations.
Loving the cycle of life, each day and each year we are offered a new start, yesterday is behind us and we can now concentrate on the here and now. This reminds me of one of my favourite quotes:-
Yesterday is history
Tomorrow is a mystery
and today is a gift…which is why we call it the present.
This leads me nicely into our next big celebration, requiring thoughtful gift selection and beautiful wrapping to send a message of love …Valentines day. Wishing you all a little something, given with love to add sparkle to your evening. Book a table at the Dandelion & Burdock in the village Stock for the lovely lady in your life where you will be guaranteed an extra surprise to make the evening extra special.
It is so enjoyable how all our special days lead us onwards and provide renewed hope. Something Given is very excited getting 2017 off to a great start, developing new ideas and collecting a wonderful array of super talented UK designers to source our gifts from. New ribbons and wrapping paper to die for. We cannot wait to start wrapping with this beautiful double sided paper from Bespoke LETTERPRESS….
Whilst writing this the snow is falling reminding me of our super winter warmer hamper….hot chocolate, hot toddy’s and hot water bottles! The hampers are bespoke, any request can be granted to fill the basket.
Contact us at email@example.com for gift ideas and bespoke wrapping. Wishing everyone a blessed and happy 2017.
What a few months it has been. Orders galore and I feel I have officially turned into Mrs Claus! How blessed I find myself surrounded by Christmas loveliness..
Presents are getting wrapped and our luxury bespoke hampers have been packed ready for delivery. This year we have two special Christmas hampers available. One focussed on those extra foodie bits needed to make a Christmas meal even more delicious, we added christmas puddings, champagne, sticky toffee pudding and the list goes on. Our second hamper is a complete bespoke gift collection made specifically for our customers needs, including presents of all shapes and sizes, drinks and anything else you could possibly dream of.
We have sourced as many of our beautiful products as possible from local suppliers and it has been a pleasure meeting some of them and forging new friendships… Alison from Lillipuds (have a look at her website, gorgeous Christmas puddings and other delights.. web site designer Kirsty Callaby from Kybo Designs… also designed Something Givens web)
Being lucky enough to support the raffle table at my first Christmas shopping night we were able to promote Something Given with examples of our luxury wrapping whilst networking with other talented small businesses also occupying stalls such as Abigail’s lifestyle (photo below). The evening was a great success and raised money for the Lennox Children’s cancer charity. All organised but the wonderful Samantha Darling.
Our next event will be Saturday the 10th of December at Brentwood school 11-2pm. Something Given will have a stall and will be selling handmade gift tags and some beautiful Christmas cards designed and made by Molly Shepherd. Come along and visit us, we may be just what you are looking for in next years rush for gift buying and wrapping, we can explain how in any situation or special occasion a bespoke gift from Something Given can make all the difference. You will be able to take a postcard with all our contact details on, designed by Jo Boxer .. Jo@boxercreativeuk.com.
We wish you a joyous Christmas time full of happiness and ribbons….
We at Something Given are very excited to be writing a second blog! It has been over a month since we last had a chance to update you on the progress and growth here at SG. We have taken on new clients ready for the Christmas rush and have been investing in new luxury inventory to be able to provide the perfect amount of elegance to our products. This is our chance to share all these new updates with you and to keep you in the loop for what is yet to come.
We are now organising an all year round calendar service for clients. We are working with corporate clients to provide extravagant Christmas hampers for well deserving staff. Plus the endless birthdays and celebrations of life are always ongoing despite the time of year.
Halloween saw the arrival of Mildred, nothing to do with ribbons and wrapping, but just too gorgeous a picture not to include….
Late October was a wonderfully inspiring day at the ‘Spirit of Christmas’ Fair in Olympia, London. The talent displayed by UK designers is so encouraging, and its brilliant to see so many of their new businesses thriving. We made contact with a whole host of amazing companies and talented young designers who we hope to work with in the near future to bring special gifts for you, not just at Christmas but all year round.. Of course my favourite stall was the ribbon heaven by Jane Means, always stunning and the choice is almost too much!
Please contact me firstname.lastname@example.org for information on how Something Given can help you with the busy few months ahead. Sourcing gifts and a bespoke wrapping service to help take some of the strain. Its beginning to feel…..!
Reflecting back it is hard to pinpoint exactly where or when the inspiration to start the bespoke gift sourcing and wrapping company ‘Something Given’ came from. Having always been a great collector of beautiful sayings, gorgeous boxes, ribbons, paper and cards to bring every emotion to life.
“Legends say that hummingbirds float free of time, carrying our hopes for love, joy and celebration”. Not only is this a beautiful quote it led me to think that celebrations are the key to every event that brings loved ones together and the key to my love of special times.
Thank goodness for the calendar year which sweeps up from one wonderful event to another. Christmas and new year soon leads on to valentines and easter where throughout much planning goes into gift buying, sending thoughtful messages and arranging time for each other…..
Remembering our wonderful Mothers and Fathers day is hotly followed by the summer days………
As the seasons change we turn to harvest, a golden autumn time where fires start to glow and dressing up for halloween with trick or treaters everywhere!
All these events carry us through our lives and i am ever grateful as they are a constant source of inspiration to remind me of those we love and how important it is to celebrate life.
This is my first attempt at a blog trying to put the new direction of my life into some meaning. Giving a gift has always bought me joy and my aim is to bring that joy to others without the worry and the strain…. for busy people who care.
Next month will be looking at how to celebrate all the wonderful days in between the calendar events. Extra ideas for new Godparents who would like to make the Christening extra special and thoughts on how they can continue to be a strong presence in the life of their Godchild by remembering the special day each year.
Present ideas and gorgeous wrapping for all those extra special days…..
……..More to follow and Keep wrapping!
